Dec. 31st, 2008 09:11 amWell my if this hasn't been an interesting year. I ushered in the new year dancing in Dublin Ireland, and this kinda set the tone for this year. I backpacked across Europe, lived on my own in a foreign country, conducted an independent research project, worked in the resource room of a middle school near my college, helped beta test an RPG, and wrote my senior thesis.
More importantly to me in terms of personal relationships, I think I've grown closer to my friends both at home and at college, and made some wonderful new ones through the online games I've been playing. Furthermore, I've met my awesome and brilliant girlfriend who confirms I either have a thing for pre-meds, I attract pre-meds, or both.
Anyway, this year has been a challenging one, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit nervous about all the challenges that await me next year, especially since I will begin my final trek into the real world, but at the same time, I think it will be fun.
Sure the world is a mess, but as a history major I know very well how often that happens. I'll just take it one step at a time and live my life how I feel is best. We'll just have to see what happens next.
