[identity profile] dontbepanic.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
...what. Are you serious? e_e

[identity profile] harpie-siren.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
O.o Is it remedial or something?

[identity profile] anzila.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I have no freaking clue!

[identity profile] anzila.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Dead serious.

[identity profile] anzila.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
No. This is a class required of every single person attempting to get a Masters of Arts and Teaching from BU. Of course, there's people from other programs, but basically the MAT people are students who are capable of getting into grad school, many of whom have taught for years.

[identity profile] menocrede.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
welcome to the redundant graduate school of redundancy

feel free to studiously ignore that teacher for the REST of the semester :\

[identity profile] anzila.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Note how i'm posting to livejournal in the middle of class, something i never would have done in undergraduate.

I'm paying for this shit is the real kicker *just reminds self it's only a few more months*

[identity profile] dontbepanic.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I like how the educational trend these days where they assume you haven't known/been taught this material repeatedly for the last ever and just come to the conclusion you skated through 12 years of education. Or the fact that if you don't know by now, (Which Really? How can you get that far and not know what that stuff is>), that you wouldn't be a senisble guy and look it up.

Sounds like you're back in high school again. Expect to see another class next semester to be the same. e_e

[identity profile] lynxgriffin.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
...Isn't this stuff that we covered in, like...I dunno, middle school?!

*completely baffled*

[identity profile] fairytaledreams.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I hope you pulled a Hermione and gave him a text-book answer 8T

[identity profile] dontbepanic.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
PS: I learned what all of that was in fourth grade I've been taught what it was every semester ever since, including into my current community college. I think they just want to let you know how much they like the word. It's giggle worthy for them to say it like the word penis is for little boys.

"Hehe...0Hypothesis. Teehee :3"

[identity profile] anzila.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Thankfully this is a one year program, so next semester is Student Teaching, aka the only actually useful thing I do in this entire damn program.

Seriously though, all of my peers are intelligent individuals who graduated from very good undergraduate institutions, many of them have worked in the business or educational worlds, and all got into BU Grad School. HOW WOULD THEY HAVE DONE THIS WITHOUT KNOWING HOW TO READ A GODDAMN ARTICLE AND WRITE A RESEARCH PAPER?

[identity profile] anzila.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
It is. It really is. I spend three hours every week going over Jr. High material in Grad School. I want my money back.

[identity profile] anzila.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep, and then just gave him a look that told him he was five seconds away from me explaining in great detail just why this class was stupid. He's left me alone.

[identity profile] anzila.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, if he just said boobies every so often, I would be slightly more inclined to pay attention.

[identity profile] fairytaledreams.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
hahahaha good. I'm glad to hear it. It's so much fun pulling a Hermione on people like that x3

[identity profile] dontbepanic.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed. I'd like to think they did back before sexual harassment was popular.

but its alright, I can see the glint in their eyes that they admire my manly pecks. It's quite flattering. :]

[identity profile] fairytaledreams.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
boobs what

I mean, yes I totally agree, too >>a

[identity profile] anzila.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't try to put a grad student in his place when you're teaching stuff he learned in Jr. High

[identity profile] dontbepanic.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
You know what he should do? Go all out in definitions. He should explain the definition, where the word was rooted from, what some popular debates there are with the word and just give the professor a ramble until he/she knows better than to ask again.

[identity profile] fairytaledreams.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
seriously... I mean really, do they think you just like... bribed teachers to pass you when you got to those units or what?

[identity profile] fairytaledreams.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
fdjkfd YES HELL YES

oh god that'd be so much epic right there. I would pay to see that.

Here, he can even use my Hermione muse XD she'd have fun with that.

[identity profile] lynxgriffin.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Think maybe you'd have a case to at least get your money back on that class?

[identity profile] harpie-siren.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Oy. That's just... there are no words for that kind of fail.

[identity profile] dontbepanic.livejournal.com 2009-10-19 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, maybe its because of this trend for bottom barrel expectations in our college and graduate programs that the average joe kinda stays in that bottom of the barrel quality? I mean, come on. Just think of all the awesome new information you could learn if they didn't do repetitive reviews.

Again? D: *huggles*

This is why we both have unlimited texting, by the way. Plotting evil schemes can be done anywhere, at any time, and against anyone. Plotting is also, I find, far superior to redundant schooling. Sleeping, I find, is also a viable option. Supposedly it's hilarious to watch my head snap back and forth as I try to stay awake- and in your case, it's pretty much the ultimate dismissal, as far as I'm concerned.

Dooooo ittttt. Come over to the snoozing dark side- we have weird dreams!

[identity profile] anzila.livejournal.com 2009-10-20 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
You're the best girlfriend ever.

[identity profile] anzila.livejournal.com 2009-10-20 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I followed the chart, and it served me well.

Eh, I try. You are definitely the best boyfriend ever, though.
